Event to Benefit Breast Cancer Victim
Sunday, March 14, 2010
2pm to 9pm
Red Lion Colonial Hotel
The Lost & Foundation will hold another of its fabulous fund-raising concerts on Sunday, March 14, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel from 2 to 9 p.m. Proceeds of the concert will go to Andrea “Andy” Amundson.
Andy received bad news last June when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastasized breast cancer. Sadly, she also learned that the cancer had spread to her neck and bones.
The severity of her disease led to a painful month-long hospital stay. She then began 20 rounds of radiation and even more chemotherapy treatments. At the end of 2009, Andy underwent radical surgery and is now awaiting reconstructive surgeries.
Andy went into this crisis without any medical insurance. Although she has received some assistance, the medical bills keep piling up and she has not been able to return to work.
Andy has been an ardent volunteer for many worthwhile causes including Festival of Trees, Lost & Foundation, Race for the Cure, Relay for Life, and the March of Dimes. At home, she’s mother to two teen-aged daughters. Now it’s her turn to benefit from the community she has given so much to.
The benefit will feature the talent of over 16 musical acts and span three stages at the Red Lion Colonial – two in the conference center and one in Martini’s Lounge. There will be a huge Silent Auction, Raffles and Family Fun throughout the day. Also, there will be displays, information and educators to help increase Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention.
The Lost & Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established by Helena musicians. The Foundation organizes regular events to benefit worthy causes. The group has sponsored several previous concerts and raised over $270,000 for worthy causes.
The Lost & Foundation benefit for Andy Amundson starts at 2 in the afternoon at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel. For more information, call 442-5002.
