Lost & Foundation Benefit Concert

David Kamp

David suffers from an aggressive form of lymphoma. This form is very rare for a boy of David's age (6 years). Diagnosed on May 4, the disease has led to a 37-week chemotherapy treatment at Children's Hospital in Seattle. The treatment will last through February 2002. When he returns home, he will be on antibiotics for two years.

David and his mother are "camping out" in Seattle, staying in a camp trailer on hospital grounds. His two older brothers remain in the care of family, here in Helena and in Plains, Montana. His father died in 1998.

The family already has faced extensive medical bills from a car accident in 1998. Lacking medical insurance, the family receives limited assistance. The costs of David's treatment have not been tallied, but they are certain to be staggering.
