Concert to Benefit
Helena Infant
Sunday, September 17, 2000
2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Free
admission

The
Lost & Foundation will hold a large scale fund-raising
concert on Sunday, September 17, on the Walking Mall in Helena
from 2 to 10 p.m. Proceeds of the concert will go to help
a Helena infant, Brenda Jo Shultz.
Born March 14 to Steve and Dee Ann Shultz, Brenda Jo has serious
heart
defects. She has undergone one surgery in Salt Lake City,
with four more to come by the end of the year. She has also
been hospitalized to stabilize complications from the first
surgery.
Brenda Jo is youngest of five children in the Shultz household.
Steve is a
self-employed contractor, and, sadly the family lacks insurance
coverage. They already face staggering bills for Brenda Jo's
treatment, with much more to come.
The Lost & Foundation event will raise money through a
silent auction,
raffles, 50/50 drawings, and general donations. The event
will also feature a live auction featuring an original pastel
work by renowned artist Harley Brown valued at $7000.
Many area merchants, restaurant and other businesses have
generously given prizes for drawings and raffles. In addition,
the new Holiday Inn Downtown (formerly Park Plaza), along
with other downtown businesses, will donate a portion of the
days proceeds to the cause.
The benefit will boast three performance stages, with each
one featuring up to 6 musical acts. One stage will be in the
elegant new Bullwacker Lounge at the Holiday Inn Downtown,
another in Performance Square on the walking mall, and a third
at Flicker's Coffee House. More than a dozen musical acts
will perform during the day.
The Lost & Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established
in 1995 by Helena musicians. The foundation organizes regular
events to benefit worthy causes. The group has sponsored more
than a dozen previous concerts and raised over $60,000 for
worthy causes.
The Lost & Foundation benefit for Brenda Jo Shultz starts
at 2:00 in the
afternoon. Headquarters during the event is the Holiday Inn
Downtown on the walking mall. For more information, call 442-5002.
