Concert Helped Nurse and Mother with Cancer

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, Lost & Foundation conducted a fund-raising concert for Corey Bartle and her family that raised over $13,200. The event took place at the Park Plaza Hotel, Café Artemis, The Quarry Lounge and Taco del Sol.

Corey is a nurse and mother who had a baby girl this past summer. During her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with cancer and the disease resulted in the early birth of the baby. The cancer was extensive, affecting her lungs, brain, lymph system, and spine.

Corey has been undergoing aggressive treatment for the cancer and has been unable to work at her job with St. Peter's Homelink.

Many area merchants and individuals generously donated prizes and services for a silent auction and raffles. In addition, 50-50 drawings and other events helped raise funds. The festivities also included lots of fun children's activities that were coordinated by our volunteers and friends of Corey.

The concert event spanned two stages at the Park Plaza – one in the ballroom and one in The Quarry Lounge. In addition, Taco del Sol hosted a stage of acoustic sets. Sixteen great musical acts donated their time and talents to help the Bartle family.

Other news …

In January 2009, Blackfoot River Brewing Company held a gala 10th Anniversary. To celebrate, they auctioned off a select variety of limited edition brews as well as their original tasting room metal sign and donated the proceeds to Lost & Foundation and Helena Food Share. Many thanks to Brad, Brian, Greg and all the Blackfoot staff!
