Deon Carter getting better every day...Concert BENEFITED Helena BABY

Sunday, March 7, 2004
2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
To Help Deon Carter

The Benefit for Deon Carter on Sunday, March 7, 2004, was a smashing success! Hundreds of people crowded into the Red Lion Colonial Hotel and Martini's Lounge to enjoy the music, bid on silent auction items, and try their luck at raffles.

The proceeds for Deon and his family exceeded $21,600!

These musicians donated their talents to creating fun and frolic -- a great setting for a great event.

BALLROOM STAGE
Trust Fund Hippies, 49th St. Blues Project, Flyer, In-Cahoots, Johnny Rawls

CAPITAL STAGE
Montana Guitar Ensemble. Fat Bachelors, The Stream, Nancy Good, Double Take, Jason Deshaw,

MARTINI'S LOUNGE
Edgewalkers. Caffeinators, Derby Brothers, 9 Miles Up

Scores of volunteers worked hard to make the day a success. Many thanks to them, and to the extended Carter family who pitched in did so much to make the event a success. Especially, thanks to all who attended and contributed.

Deon was born last August 7, the first child of Joey and Tony Carter. Around Christmas, a persistent cold and fever led to medical tests. Very quickly, his doctor decided to put Deon on a Life Flight to Salt Lake City. On January 3, Deon was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This is a very rare form of leukemia, and doctors in Salt Lake City say Deon is the youngest case they know of. However, they predict a 90% chance for full recovery.
