Concert to Benefit Shooting Victims
The Lost & Foundation will hold a fund-raising concert on Sunday, September 27, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel from 2 to 9 p.m. Proceeds of the concert will go to victims and families of the shooting in Helena on June 3.
In Helena on June 3, senseless shooting left one teenager dead and two others seriously wounded. Lost & Foundation wants to help the families of each of these victims – Cory Andrewski, Joey Wohlers, and Kahner Leary.
Cory died from his wounds. His family is left to pick up the pieces and cover those expenses. Joey and Kahner survived, with both requiring extensive treatment. Joey spent several weeks in Seattle, while Kahner received treatment locally.
Recognizing it can raise limited amounts of money, the Lost & Foundation hopes to make a dent in the expenses resulting from the violence. More importantly, the foundation wants to gather the Helena community to start healing wounds that run deeper than gunfire.
Several area merchants have generously given prizes for drawings and raffles. In addition, 50-50 drawings and other events will help raise funds. The festivities will include a variety of children's activities.
The event will span three stages at the Red Lion Colonial – two in the conference center and one in Martini’s Lounge. Several musical acts are donating their time and talents to help the shooting victims.
